The name, Too Many Guitars, comes form the band’s lineup, featuring four guitar players in a group of 7-9 musicians. Orchestrating rock music in a large band format enables the group to more closely emulate in live performance the multi-track recording sound that is the signature style of today’s hit music. The large pool of players also creates the opportunity to tap the talents of 5 lead singers performing a wide range of musical styles, as well as singing rich vocal harmonies.
The band’s repertoire of over 300 songs includes 50’s hits from artists such as Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, and the Everly Brothers. 60’s songs include the best of the Beatles, Stones, The Who, the Doors and the Byrds. From the 70’s, favorites from The Band, Fleetwood Mac, Orleans, and a special medley from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. 80’s artists include the Eagles, Foreigner, Neil Young, and Eric Clapton. From the 90’s, the band plays music created by Brian Setzer, JoDee Messina, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Jacob Dylan. Current hits include songs by Sheryl Crow, Uncle Kracker, and Weezer.
